Can you relate to this question? I ask myself this almost daily. That nagging little voice in the back of my head won’t shut-up! “You’re not an author…what makes you think that people will want to read your stories…this chapter is pathetic…it’s not good enough…should I rewrite it?” Ever hear those voices?
Some observations about indie authors who are selling books and replacing their jobs.
- They all have these nagging doubts!
- The more they write, the better they get.
- The successful ones write a lot, they manage their time and commit to writing almost every day by setting goals.
- They finish books!
- They publish those finished books!
- They write series of books that end with cliffhangers or unresolved issues to compel the reader to buy the next book. This impulse buying is perfect for ebook purchases.
- If the book is not selling they do something about it. They spread the word, create FB ads, get some publicity! They also review their titles and covers if sales are not happening.
- They swear by BIC butt in chair!
